Art & Design Holiday Market

Press Release

ONNI – Art & Design Holiday Market brings together more than fifty artists and designers from around the world, blending the best elements of a pop-up, a design fair, and an art exhibition. Inspired by the beloved art and design markets of the Nordics – with one-of-a-kind gift ideas – ONNI marks New York City’s first gallery exhibition level holiday market dedicated to collectible art and design.

Visitors will find limited-edition pieces, small paintings, vessels, textiles, ceramics, sculptural clocks, stools, lamps, and other gift-sized works. Co-curated by Lin Tyrpien of Lyle Gallery and Isabel Sullivan, each piece was chosen with gifting in mind: objects that carry the stories, traditions, and craftsmanship of their makers.

Artists

Anders Scrmn Meisner

(b. 1981)

Describing his work as, “giant postcards of affection”, Meisner’s paintings are timeless in their subject matter – painted with a visual lexicon that echoes Minoan frescoes, or the walls of the exquisite structures of Pompeii.

Anna Kesäniemi

Camille Tan

(b. 1990)

Cat Spilman

(b. 1990)

Didi NG Wing Yin

Elaine Speirs

(b. 1967)

Frank Webster

(b. 1966)

Frank Webster is a devout chronicler of natural history. His numerous works capture the ephemeral and fragile qualities of our planet, simultaneously rendering us awestruck by their grandeur and sublime power.

George William Bell

(b. 1985)

Gideon Summerfield

Hugo Winder-Lind

(b. 1992)

Born in Barnet, London, and raised in the English village South Mimms, Hugo was immersed in a family and community of storytellers and performers. His mother was a dancer, and his father worked in stained glass, teaching him techniques that would shape his practice. Growing up in the Church of England meant he could never shake mysticism and magic from the work.

Joana Galego

(b. 1994)

Joseph Santore

(b. 1945)

Joseph Santore’s paintings speak to us of ourselves. They lift the shroud on humanity, and communicate with us on the very singular, unique nature of consciousness, and being embodied in this world.

Mansi Shah

Michael Ajerman

(b. 1977)

Ole Aakjaer

(b. 1962)

Ole Aakjær is best known for his large-format, highly symbolic works that celebrate the power of women. The distinctive, figurative paintings rely on bold colors and iconography to convey sentiments of empathy, while simultaneously exploring the complexity and strength of their subjects.
