George William Bell is a Danish contemporary glass artist known for pushing the boundaries of material, form, and tradition. His work blends fine art, craft, and design, creating autonomous glass forms that challenge conventional perceptions of the handmade object.
Over the past two decades, Bell has cultivated a practice rooted in technical mastery and material exploration. Originally trained in ceramics, he transitioned to glass after a formative experience at Bath Aqua Glass, later earning degrees from Bath Spa University and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art. His work draws inspiration from Venetian techniques and Scandinavian aesthetics, resulting in sculptural pieces that embrace fluidity, self-generative form, and expressive abstraction. Bell’s creations have been exhibited internationally—from the Corning Museum of Glass to design showcases in Milan and Stockholm—and recognized by institutions such as Danske Kunsthåndværkere & Designere and the Stanislav Libenský Award
