"Being an artist is like a marathon, you’re not supposed to stop. It's something you do throughout your whole life...you’re going to go through all of these changes, both in your personal life and career, with your art. All of these things change, but the act of creating art is the only stable thing."
— Anders Scrmn Meisner
Describing his work as, “giant postcards of affection”, Meisner’s paintings are timeless in their subject matter – painted with a visual lexicon that echoes Minoan frescoes, or the walls of the exquisite structures of Pompeii. Ethereal and dreamlike, ancient in their auras yet novel in the purity of their line and form, Meisner imbues all of the elements of nature into his canvases. Flora bend within a gentle breeze, water beckons as ripples caress a boat passing downstream, the sun sets skies ablaze and moons, luminous and totemic touch all in sight under midnight skies. Lush in their color, nostalgic and wondrous in the sentiments they stir, Meisner brings us into worlds that are becoming increasingly obsolete. He brings us into contact with worlds we feel we may have dreamed of once – arcane, yet gentle, mirages of lands far off, or close by that we wish to stay forever in.
