"This work includes playful and unexpected combinations of objects. I find it helpful to collect a variety of items that I encounter through life that might later be used as part of a painting. These items can be retained for their individual interest, but may later play a part in slightly uncanny images. In this way objects such as a broken kitchen pot, a dried out weedy seadragon found at the beach, or gifted pieces of origami can find their onto my shelves where they start to present possibilities for painting." —Stephanie Monteith
