Kuaku is where myth meets the everyday. Its name comes from a Nahuatl word for bull, an animal that has long symbolized strength and ritual across cultures, from Mesoamerica to Europe. That quiet power sits at the core of the design. Kuaku draws from the sturdy presence of ancient chairs and the elegance of Eileen Gray’s early work. The base takes inspiration from the forms of Mexican pyramids, elongated and abstracted until its profile began to resemble a bull’s head. That connection gave the piece its shape: grounded, symbolic, and refined. The curved cowhide seat adds warmth and ease, held in place by hidden magnets that allow for simple adjustment. It’s a chair made for daily life but rooted in history, designed to carry stories and move with you over time.
