Jaye Kim is a ceramic artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work reflects on the symbolism and quiet rituals of motherhood—transforming everyday domestic objects into large-scale ceramic sculptures. Using hand-building techniques, she creates cups, saucers, skincare products, and floral forms that hold emotion, memory, and meaning. This piece expresses a sense of longing and displacement—of viewing New York through the lens of an outsider, even after years of living here. The wilted flowers, preserved in ceramic, capture a suspended moment in time. They honor a past in which the artist felt lost, while also accepting it as part of her story.
