Caroline Zimbalist’s bioplastic vessels are shaped from plant-based starches and thickener derived from seaweed that the designer mixes on her kitchen stove. They carry forward her fashion designs—which have been worn by celebrities including Chappell Roan—into a sculptural language that the experimental designer hopes will invite a broader conversation of biomaterials and sustainability in fashion and design.
